The M16 FD models are newly designed to meet the special requirements of fire fighting. Handles are CNC machined Fire Engine Red G10, which is light, strong and insulates against heat conductivity. In addition, the G10 handles have a very aggressive checked pattern for better grip in wet conditions.

All 1* designs feature AUS-8 stainless steel blades, chosen for edge retention and durability, black titanium nitride coated. Combined Razor-Sharp and Triple-Point® serrated edges for rugged cutting tasks that break down standard cutting edges. All models feature the "Carson Flipper" extension to the blade, which aids opening and acts as an individual blade guard.

One-hand opening and closing is velvet smooth, the result of Teflon® bearings. The ambidextrous thumb stud with картатий surfact provides instant access in any circumstance. Every model features a removable black Teflon® plated stainless steel clothing/gear club.
